Support available to delegates from resource constrained countries The travel grant application process has now closed. UICC recognizes the importance of providing assistance to potential congress participants from low- and middle-income countries. An application process has been developped and a number of potential delegates have been granted a contribution to their travel expenses to attend the World Cancer Congress 2010 in Shenzhen. It is the will of the UICC to distribute as many travel grants as possible but funds are limited and UICC cannot grant all requests. We rely on the support from our partners and wish to thank them for their continued support. 1. Grant payments The costs contribution will be paid to all beneficiaries of travel grants, the amount allocated is final. Due to Chinese bank regulations, this amount will be paid by bank check at the congress. A dedicated “Travel Grant” counter will be operational during the following opening hours:
Confirmation of your travel grant as well as evidence of the travel expenses incurred - Please note that evidence of travel will in no case allow a request for supplementary payment- and a copy of your passport and visa will be requested. Failure to present these documents will lead to no payment.
Thank you for confirming acceptance of your travel grant by notifying the UICC secretariat at your earliest convenience. Should you fail to do this by 15 April 2010, your travel grant will be automatically allocated to another participant.
Thank you for submitting your online registration for the congress (no fee will apply) so UICC can prepare your registration material to be picked up at the international registration counter upon your arrival.

All foreign visitors to China need a visa from their respective Chinese Embassy or Consulate in order to enter the country. Upon your online registration for the congress, you will be given the option to apply for your visa invitation letter (delivered by our local host CMA) by supplying some specific details. Once this letter received (within 10 days of your registration), you will have to present it to the Chinese Embassy / Consulate along with the other requested documents (such as flight tickets, hotel voucher, etc). Please also note that that there are different types of Chinese visas available, such as multiple entry, which you will need if you’re planning a trip to Hong Kong for instance (in this case you might need a Hong Kong visa as well). We highly recommend you to start this process early as in some cases it can take a lot longer than expected (sometimes up to six weeks). At any rate, participants must check with their local Chinese embassy or consulate for applicable rules and procedures. For Hotel confirmation, please contact Pacific World Limited Beijing, Room 301, Sunjoy Mansion, No. 6 Ritan Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing, 100020, P. R. China
